We love having guests, but we figured when moving to California, there was no way we’d have a house with a guest room. God surprised us with a home that has an extra room. I don’t imagine that it will stay a “guest” room. Something tells me there’s another reason we have a house with 5 bedrooms, but it was fun decorating this one on the cheap in the meantime. I love the simplicity of this room with it’s green and gold. When we moved, I wanted to paint the entire house white, and I got promptly vetoed. This was my one room that Andy let me have free reign, so I painted the whole thing white and went to town.
We’ve enjoyed having a space for friends and family to crash when they come to visit, but even when this room is no longer an exclusive guest room, people are always welcome to come and stay. We’re the type of family that believes in piling people on couches and floors if necessary because there’s something personal and awesome about staying in someone’s home. Shortly after moving here, Kate had a friend spend the night, and I told her we’d make a pallet. She said “a what?!” I quickly learned that pallet was apparently a southern term. Well, we’re all about the pallets.
